Ahhh Fridays. The day you can’t wait to scramble out of the office and make it to Happy Hour. Preferably without any detours. That’s why in this feature, we’ll show you how to take your work outfit from day to night, with only a few minor tweaks.

When I wrote last week’s Copy Cat Cool and twisted Bonnie Wright’s outfit into a work appropriate ensemble, I thought to myself: Kind of a shame to have tweak it into something more conservative, because this is such a great outfit in and of itself. So I decided to feature it again in our two-ways Friday post.

During the day, don’t forget to layer a red tank underneath the sheer blouse. I like the neutral accessories and jacket, because they tone down the bright red jacket.

At night, I wouldn’t be afraid to show a little skin underneath the sheer blouse. Add a lacy bralette that just slightly peaks through your sheer shirt. If you are going to go sheer, wear it with confidence and make sure people know it is an intentional choice. And that includes pretty layers underneath – don’t even think about wearing some flesh-colored t-shirt bra contraption. If a visible bra is not to your taste, try a higher coverage bustier top or  stick with the tank. And because I am sucker for color-blocking, I’d complement the bright red of shirt, shoes and lips with a deep purple on shoes and purse.

Since there is already a lot going on with the sheer blouse and color blocking, make sure all the clothes are well tailored and the silhouette clean and streamlined. I’m all for adding a red lip, but would keep the rest of hair and makeup simple. Either straight down or rocking a top knot.
