Ahhh Fridays. The day you can’t wait to scramble out of the office and make it to Happy Hour. Preferably without any detours. That’s why in this feature, we’ll show you how to take your work outfit from day to night, with only a few minor tweaks.
I think a tie-neck blouse – though quite formal and covered – is an excellent transition piece. I particularly like the sheer sleeves on this graphite one. Tuck it into a structured pencil during the day. Since its Friday, feel free to add a colorful bag and some fun metal tip shoes. At night, wear the blouse loose over your favorite pairs of skinnies. Add some strappy heels, edgy earrings and ditch your work tote for a fun clutch and tadaaa – you’re ready for a night on the town.
You might want to try to wear an actual belt – and not a bracelet like the polyvore seems to suggest :)
Armani Exchange has quite a nice alternative. Or if you’d like one that’s a bit thinner, you
could try this from Yoox. I especially like the jewelled clasp, but that might not be for every office during day time. Last but not least, Mango offers this
nice and wide, faux leather, light silver beauty. I don’t recommend allocating a big portion of your budget to a belt like this. Funky accessories that you purchase in order to pull together very specific outfits certainly look better at the x-hundred dollars price point, but you can very well get away with the cheaper version. So unless you are absolutely certain that you will have lots of opportunities to wear them, I’d allocate my money to something that gets a bit more wear.
